The Baytown Bobcats, one of the founding members of the National Basketball League-United States (NBL-US), are making their highly anticipated return for the 2025 season. After a brief hiatus in 2024 to restructure under new ownership and coaching leadership, the Bobcats are poised for a strong comeback.

Established in 2020, the Bobcats quickly made their mark in the NBL-US, advancing to the 2021 NBL-US Championship Game and reaching the playoffs in two of their four seasons. Despite a challenging 2023 season, finishing with a 5-5 record, the Bobcats are returning with renewed focus and determination, looking to reclaim their status as a competitive force in the league.

NBL-US Commissioner Lillian Countee expressed her enthusiasm for the return of the Bobcats, stating: “The Baytown Bobcats have been a cornerstone of the NBL-US since the league’s early days, and we are thrilled to welcome them back for the 2025 season. Their playoff runs and Championship Game appearance in 2021 showcased their potential, and with a fresh start, we expect them to be highly competitive once again. We are excited to see what the new leadership and coaching team will bring to the table this season.”

The Bobcats’ coaching staff and general manager announcements are forthcoming, as the organization builds toward a successful 2025 season. Fans can expect the Bobcats to come out with a reinvigorated roster and a commitment to putting Baytown basketball back on the map.

The NBL-US 2025 season is set to tip off in December, and the Baytown Bobcats are ready to compete for a playoff spot and another shot at the championship.
