Among those in attendance on August 30 was Thomas Williams Jr., General Manager of the 2025 NBL-US Champion Gueydan Flying Ducks, alongside Wallace Jones, General Manager of the expansion Montgomery County Dragons. Both executives praised the competitive environment and confirmed plans to be engaged throughout the September 27 session.

Executive Reactions from the First Combine

Thomas Williams Jr., General Manager, Gueydan Flying Ducks (Reigning NBL-US Champions)

“The gym was loaded with hungry, coachable players who competed on both ends of the floor. We saw real size at the rim, length on the wing, and a few guards who could control pace and make reads under pressure. As a staff, we circled several names as potential future Flying Ducks—guys who play with discipline, defend their position, and value winning plays. We’re excited to see an even deeper pool on September 27.”

Wallace Jones, General Manager, Montgomery County Dragons (NBL-US Expansion Franchise)

“I was genuinely surprised by the depth of talent—there were prospects who can help win games right now. The energy in the gym was outstanding, and the professionalism from players stood out. For an expansion team, this is exactly the environment we need to identify culture-builders. I’m eager to be back on September 27 to continue evaluations and meet more athletes who want to help us launch the Montgomery County Dragons the right way.”
