Statement from the Commissioner
Lillian Countee, Commissioner, NBL-US
“Expanding into Colorado is a defining moment for our league. Colorado Springs is a city known for its discipline, resilience, and athletic spirit—and we want to channel that energy into building one of the strongest conferences in the NBL-US.
Our six-team, 40-game season will provide players with professional-grade schedules, coaching, and film evaluation, while offering fans high-quality basketball that reflects the pride and toughness of the region.
My expectations for the Colorado Conference are high: I expect to see well-run programs, athletes prepared for the next level, and a community-first approach that makes our games a destination for families across the state.
With Prince Uche as Conference Director, we are confident this conference will quickly establish itself as one of the most competitive in the league and a consistent source of talent for colleges, domestic teams, and international contracts. Colorado has the culture, the passion, and the people to make this expansion thrive—and we are proud to call it home.”

“I am truly honored to be named the Conference Director for the NBL-US Colorado Conference, especially in a city as inspiring and vibrant as Colorado Springs. This is more than just basketball—it’s about building a platform for unsigned players to create real futures through exposure, preparation, and opportunity.
My vision is clear: the Colorado Conference will be a championship-caliber conference, and I expect our teams to set the standard for performance in this league. We will focus on player development every day—from film study to skill enhancement, conditioning, and professionalism—so our athletes are prepared for college recruitment, domestic contracts, or international opportunities.
This expansion is also about community connection. Colorado players, coaches, and fans deserve a platform where talent is celebrated and nurtured, and where basketball can be a unifying force for growth.
