HUNTSVILLE DAWGS HANDLE CYPRESS VENOM

In a compelling matchup, the Huntsville Dawgs outlasted the Cypress Venom with a final score of 111-90. With remarkable shooting precision and dominance on the boards, Huntsville showcased their superiority in this contest.

The Dawgs, who clinched 111 points, shot efficiently with a field goal percentage (FG%) based on 45 of 97 attempts. Their balanced attack included a tremendous long-range capability, evident in their 18 three-pointers out of 50 attempts. Despite their heavy reliance on threes, they also displayed proficiency in the paint, making 27 of 47 two-point attempts. Huntsville’s commanding presence on the glass was evident, pulling down 58 rebounds, including a formidable 15 on the offensive end, which provided them numerous second-chance opportunities.

His performance was vital, as he coupled scoring with playmaking, contributing 5 assists. Jamir Mason was the powerhouse on the boards with an astounding 21 rebounds, complementing his 17 points and 6 assists without committing any turnovers. Mason’s defensive efforts were underlined by 3 steals, making him an all-around asset on both ends of the floor.

Torrence Greene added significant offensive support with 26 points on 12 of 20 shooting. His ability to convert both inside and beyond the arc (hitting two 3-pointers) added another dimension to Huntsville’s attack. Joseph Gilliam was a potent threat from deep, sinking 6 threes en route to 20 points.

On the defensive side, the Dawgs were efficient, snatching 9 steals and blocking 3 shots. Kevin Wesley Jr. was a two-way force with 14 rebounds and 4 steals, alongside a solid 8-point, 6-assist game.

Davion Smith was a standout for Cypress, delivering a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. His efforts were matched by Eric Davis, who added 16 points but also 5 turnovers. Crosby Jackson dominated the glass with an impressive 15 rebounds alongside 9 points, illustrating his commitment on both ends of the floor.

Defensive intensity for Cypress came from Eric McDuffie, accruing 3 steals, and Kenny Frelow attempted to balance the offensive efforts with 16 points and 4 assists, but the overall output was insufficient against Huntsville’s firepower.
