Montgomery County Dragons And Lady Dragons Officially Join NBL–US & WNBL–US For 2025–2026 Season

WILLIS, TX — The National Basketball League–United States (NBL–US) is proud to announce the official launch of the Montgomery County Dragons and Montgomery County Lady Dragons, who will compete in the 2025–2026 NBL–US and WNBL–US seasons. Based in Willis, Texas, the franchise becomes the newest addition to the NBL–US family and will represent the entire Montgomery County region—from The Woodlands to Conroe, Magnolia to New Caney—with passion, pride, and purpose.

With both men’s and women’s teams confirmed and full participation across Divisions 1 through 4, the Dragons will field elite and developmental programs for youth and adult athletes alike. The Dragons’ arrival signals a bold step forward in Montgomery County’s commitment to sports leadership and local talent development.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Montgomery County Dragons and Lady Dragons exist to empower athletes, unite the community, and create lasting legacies—on the court and beyond.
Through competitive excellence, mentorship, and inclusive programming across Divisions 1–4, the Dragons franchise will serve as a bridge for opportunity, a symbol of local pride, and a launching pad for future stars of the game.


TRYOUTS, SEASON START, AND TICKETS

  • Tryouts Begin:August 2025
    • Open to Division 1 (ages 18–25), Division 2 (ages 18–22), Division 3 (high school), and Division 4 (middle school) players
  • Season Tip-Off:December 6, 2025
    • Both the Dragons and Lady Dragons will begin their inaugural campaigns with a 20-game regular season, followed by playoffs
    • Season Ticket Sales: Ticket packages will be available in November. Fans can sign up for presale alerts on montgomerycountydragons.com

Announcements regarding the franchise’s General Manager and Head Coaches for both teams will be made in the coming weeks.

“The addition of the Montgomery County Dragons and Lady Dragons is a major milestone for our league,” said Lillian Countee, Commissioner of the NBL–US.

“Montgomery County has long been a powerhouse in youth athletics, and this new franchise gives the region a professional identity to rally behind. With teams competing at every level—boys, girls, men, and women—the Dragons are poised to become one of the most impactful organizations in our system. I cannot wait to see the gym packed this December as they begin what I know will be a proud and competitive legacy.”


ABOUT THE NBL–US

The National Basketball League–United States (NBL–US) is a rapidly growing professional basketball league established to offer high-level competition and player development opportunities across the United States. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the NBL–US features four unique age-based divisions:

  • Division 1: Elite-level men’s and women’s teams (ages 18–25)
  • Division 2: Young adult athletes (ages 18–22), focused on development and college transition
  • Division 3: High school players aiming to gain visibility and structured competition
  • Division 4: Middle school development league, preparing youth for the future of basketball

The Women’s National Basketball League–United States (WNBL–US) operates in tandem with the NBL–US, offering women’s teams equal access to competitive play, exposure, and advancement.
