EASTSIDE NETZ JOINS NBL-US, INTRODUCING HISTORIC ALL-FEMALE OWNERSHIP GROUP
EAST HOUSTON, TEXAS – December 10th, 2023 – The National Basketball League-United States (NBL-US) is thrilled to announce the addition of the Eastside Netz as an expansion team for the upcoming 2024 season. Under the majority ownership of Dianna Williams, a proud East Houston resident, the Eastside Netz make history by becoming the first team in NBL-US history with an all-female ownership group.
Dianna Williams, an influential figure in the East Houston community, is excited about this groundbreaking opportunity to contribute to the NBL-US. When asked about being the majority owner of the Netz and making history in the league, she expressed, “I am excited to be a part of the NBL-US Family as the majority owner of the Eastside Netz. Proud to provide opportunities for exposure to high school, college, and adult athletes. The NBL-US continues to bring basketball entertainment to a new level in East Harris County and surrounding areas.”
A Historic Move for Diversity:
The addition of Dianna Williams and her all-female ownership group marks a significant milestone for diversity in the NBL-US. President of International Basketball Operations, Kevin Williams Sr., shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to bring Mrs. Dianna Williams and her ownership group into the NBL-US. She has followed the league for a year now and has always supported the league and our vision. To have her in an ownership role and making history as the first all-female ownership group in our history is huge for the diversity of the league.”
He continued, “I know she will be great in the community, as she has a passion for the Eastside of Houston, being a resident for over 30 years. There is a ton of talent on the Eastside, and we are thrilled to see how this team performs for years to come.”
