Seven years of growth and international opportunity have positioned NBL-US basketball development as a leading platform.
It supports unsigned basketball players pursuing college and professional careers.
HOUSTON, TEXAS — August 1, 2026 — The National Basketball League–United States, commonly known as NBL-US, is proud to announce.
It has achieved the No. 1 Google search ranking among college and professional basketball development leagues in the United States.
This ranking is based on the league’s monitoring of relevant Google search results.
The recognition represents another significant milestone in the rise of NBL-US and reflects seven years of commitment to player development. Additionally, it underscores organized competition, professional exposure, and the creation of meaningful basketball opportunities in the United States and abroad.
Since its establishment, NBL-US has provided unsigned and overlooked basketball players a structured platform.
This platform supports NBL-US basketball development by helping them compete, develop, and build professional résumés for opportunities beyond the league.
Many players have used the NBL-US platform to attend colleges.
They gain interest from college programs and seek opportunities to continue internationally.
The league’s growing reputation has been built through competitive games, professional statistics, game film, individual highlights, player marketing, scouting exposure and relationships with basketball organizations in multiple countries.
NBL-US was created to serve athletes who may not have received sufficient exposure through traditional recruiting systems. The league believes that talent can be found in every city, community and background when athletes are given access to the right platform, resources and leadership.
Seven Years of Growth and Development
During its first seven years, NBL-US has grown from an emerging developmental basketball concept into an expanding organization with a national and international vision.
The league has continued to develop its competitive structure while creating opportunities for players to be evaluated in a professional environment. Athletes participating in NBL-US are provided with an opportunity to build verified playing experience while competing against other motivated players pursuing college, international and professional basketball careers.
NBL-US has also emphasized the importance of presenting players professionally. Through official statistics, full-game video, individual highlights, player profiles, photography, promotional graphics and digital marketing, the league works to ensure that athletes have materials that can be presented to coaches, scouts, clubs, academies and basketball decision-makers.
The organization’s growth has been driven by its commitment to combining basketball competition with education, exposure and career preparation.
Kevin Williams Sr., President of Basketball Operations for NBL-US, said the league’s rise is the result of seven years of sacrifice, consistency and a commitment to creating opportunities for players who needed another path.
“The growth of NBL-US over the last seven years has been remarkable. We started with a vision to create a legitimate platform for unsigned and overlooked basketball players, and that vision has continued to grow every season. We have experienced challenges, made adjustments, expanded our relationships and continued working to improve the opportunities available to our players.
“This No. 1 ranking represents more than a position on Google. It represents seven years of hard work by our players, coaches, commissioners, directors, recruiters, partners, families and supporters. Every person who has participated in NBL-US has played a part in helping the league reach this point.
“Many players have used our platform to attend colleges, continue their education, compete internationally and move closer to their professional basketball goals. Those opportunities are the reason NBL-US exists. We understand that every player’s journey is different, and we want to provide an organized pathway for athletes who are still searching for their opportunity.
“Our goal has never been to simply play basketball games. Our goal is to develop players, build their résumés, provide quality film and statistics, connect them with opportunities and prepare them for the responsibilities that come with playing at the next level.
“We are proud of what we have accomplished, but we are even more excited about where NBL-US is going. The next phase of our vision includes expanding into additional markets, strengthening our college and international partnerships, increasing opportunities for men and women, improving our player-development services and continuing to build pathways between basketball in the United States and basketball around the world.”
College and International Advancement
Player advancement remains one of the most important measurements of success for NBL-US.
Many athletes have used their participation in the league to gain additional exposure, strengthen their basketball résumés and pursue opportunities with colleges, international clubs, academies and other professional-development programs.
NBL-US provides athletes with more than a place to compete. The league is designed to help players document their performance and present themselves professionally to basketball programs and organizations.
Player-development resources may include:
Official game statistics and performance records; full-game video and individual highlight footage; professional player profiles and promotional materials; photography and digital marketing support; competitive games against other college and professional prospects; and access to college, academy and international basketball contacts.
The league believes that combining competition with professional presentation gives athletes a stronger opportunity to be evaluated by coaches, scouts and basketball organizations.
FIBA Recognition and Global Basketball Relationships
According to NBL-US, the organization is the only FIBA-recognized basketball league operating in the United States.
That international recognition has helped strengthen the league’s global vision and its efforts to connect American players with basketball opportunities outside the United States.
The league continues to build relationships with teams, academies, leagues and basketball organizations in international markets. These relationships are intended to create additional pathways for NBL-US players while also introducing international athletes and organizations to the league’s developmental system.
NBL-US believes that international basketball can provide valuable opportunities for players to grow both personally and professionally. Competing abroad can allow athletes to experience different basketball systems, cultures, coaching styles and levels of competition.
The league’s long-term strategy is to make NBL-US a recognized connection point between developing basketball talent in the United States and legitimate basketball opportunities around the world.
Vision for the Future
The future vision of NBL-US is centered on responsible expansion, stronger player-development services and increased college and international opportunities.
The league plans to continue developing regional markets that can provide athletes with access to organized competition while reducing unnecessary financial barriers. NBL-US will also work to strengthen its operational standards, coaching structure, recruiting network and player-evaluation process.
Future priorities include expanding into additional cities and regions; strengthening relationships with colleges and international basketball organizations; creating more opportunities for men’s and women’s players; improving statistics, film, highlights and digital player profiles; increasing community partnerships and sponsorship opportunities; developing additional international basketball pathways; and continuing to establish NBL-US as a respected college and professional development platform.
NBL-US leadership also intends to continue improving the overall experience for players and their families. The league recognizes that participation represents an investment of time, effort and financial resources. Its objective is to provide athletes with a structured program, competitive environment and clear developmental purpose.
Building More Than a Basketball League
While competition remains at the center of NBL-US, the organization’s broader mission is to build confidence, discipline, leadership, accountability and professional habits among its players.
The league encourages athletes to understand that advancement requires more than athletic ability. Players must also demonstrate commitment, communication, physical preparation, coachability and personal responsibility.
NBL-US seeks to prepare athletes for the expectations they may face at the college or professional level. Through organized competition and professional-development resources, players are challenged to take ownership of their careers and maximize every opportunity placed before them.
The No. 1 Google ranking is an important achievement for the organization, but NBL-US leadership views it as another step in a much larger journey.
The league remains focused on creating a sustainable basketball platform that can serve players, families, coaches, communities and basketball organizations for years to come.
